Treatment

Unfortunately, there is no cure for cerebral palsy. All that can be done is to utilize all available resources to maximize every possible function of the patient’s body and mind, and reduce complications to the greatest extent that can be achieved. Early diagnosis and treatment is vital to reaching these goals.  Some of the treatments are physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and medications to reduce muscles spasms, pain or seizures. Botox is used to relax contracting muscles. Surgery may be necessary to release muscles or repair joints. Braces and splints may be needed.
